*An Inductive Bible Study of Acts with Chris Nalls

“The Power of God through the People of God for the Glory of God among the Nations.”

Course Description: The book of Acts is often referred to as the “Acts of the Apostles” or the “Acts of the Holy Spirit.” It is indeed a treasure of how the promised Holy Spirit empowered not only the Apostles, but all who would come to faith in Christ, to be the people of God (the church locally and globally) who carry out the mission of God (reconciling the world to God) by the power of God (the Gospel) for the glory of God!  Come and join us as we study how God desires to work through us to expand his Kingdom in the Carrollton area and around the world for His glory!

Located in Room 211-D in the Fellowship Hall.

*An Interactive Study of Scripture with Cynthia Harper

“The Names of God”

Course Description: This course is created to identify the different names of God and where they are in the bible. We need to be able to evoke the correct name of God when praying, evangelizing, and      affirming God’s promises. Come join us as we study the names and attributes of God so that we can pray this confession together: Holy Spirit, we recognize that you are the ultimate teacher; therefore, we ask you to enlarge our territory training this group to become a reservoir of your ultimate knowledge.

Located in Room 211-E in the Fellowship Hall.

*A Book Study for Women with Leeann Allen

Amazed and Confused: When God’s Actions Collide with Our     Expectations

Course Description: Most people have prayed for something or    someone in earnest, seeking God’s will, only to be left confused by God’s response. In Amazed and Confused, Heather Zempel tackles this question head-on by exploring the book of Habakkuk. When the prophet Habakkuk prayed that God would bring change to the      backsliding nation of Israel, this issue came to the forefront. Habakkuk begged God for revival and that He would turn the hearts of faithless people back to Him. God’s answer to Habakkuk was, “Take a look at the nations and watch what happens! You will be shocked and amazed” (1:5, The Voice). Amazed and Confused proceeds             systematically through the book of Habakkuk, exploring the prophet’s prayer, God’s response, and the prophet’s journey from confusion to worship. This interactive Bible study is the perfect choice for those who are hurting and confused about God’s responses to their prayers.

Located in Room 211-F in the Fellowship Hall.

*A Study of the Holy Spirit in the Gospel of Luke with

Dr. Stephen Allen

Course Description: Throughout the Gospel of Luke, the Holy Spirit prepares, empowers, and guides all of the activities of Jesus and his disciples. The Holy Spirit represents the power of God constantly working to establish the Kingdom of God. This study will demonstrate how the Holy Spirit created a paradigm-changing pattern that was first evidenced in the life of Jesus and echoed in the earliest disciples as they form the post-resurrection church. The study will also yield invaluable implications for the way that the Western Church should engage in faithful Christian witness. We will observe the Holy Spirit’s shaping influence on the ministry of Jesus and its impact on how he fostered an environment of holistic discipleship with his followers through the same Holy-Spirit prompted works of preparation, empowerment, and guidance.
