Dr. Bruce Minett CCA, CFRE, CM
Executive Associate Pastor
Bruce Minett has served as Executive Associate Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church since May of 2002. Prior to entering vocational ministry he served in the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Air Force Reserve, and the U.S. Civil Service at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, South Carolina.
He has earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University, a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Bruce holds the following professional credentials: CCA (Certified Church Administrator) earned through Union Presbyterian Seminary and the National Association of Church Business Administration; CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) earned through CFRE International; and CM (Certified Manager) earned through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers at James Madison University.
He has also earned professional certificates in Non-Profit Management (Duke University), Financial Planning (Boston University), Fundraising Management (Indiana University), and Fundraising and Development (University of Richmond).
Prior to his call to Tabernacle, Bruce served as Minister of Administration and Education at Bayside Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia (1989-2002). He also served as Minister of Education and Youth at First Baptist Church of Galax, Virginia (1987-1989).
Bruce and his wife Beverly have two adult children - Steven, who lives in Virginia Beach, and Kelly who lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Eric, and their two sons, Austin and Grant. Bruce enjoys working in the yard, reading, Steelers football, Penguins hockey, and Virginia Tech football. Go Hokies!
