Dr. Dana A. Harman

Dr. Dana Harman serves Tabernacle Baptist Church as the Director of the Weekday Preschool and Children’s Ministries. She is a retired educator, having served 29 years as a classroom teacher, school-level leader, and district-level leader in the Carroll County School System. A graduate of Carrollton High School, Dr. Harman earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, and graduate degrees from the University of West Georgia and the University of Alabama. She began her teaching career at Carrollton Junior High School in 1990. She taught Advanced Placement Language and American Literature at Central High School before moving into school administration. Dr. Harman served as principal at Sand Hill Elementary School, Jonesville Middle School, and Central High School, and was the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for five years.

She and her husband, Chuck are members of Tabernacle and have two adult sons, John and Mattox. She is passionate about education and believes that positive early learning opportunities are critical to a child’s overall well-being. Families learning and worshipping together are essential in preparing children’s hearts to know and love Jesus and in establishing a firm foundation in God’s Word.
